You wake up alone in a diner bathroom.

The mirror is cracked. The windows are boarded.

Outside, the streets hum with the silence of something very wrong.

Welcome to Dead City—a place once booming with life, business, and bad decisions.

Once a proud “company town” owned by Viking Petroleum, Dead City now rots in the shadow of a catastrophe no one saw coming… but everyone smelled. The survivors call it the bad gas. Whatever it was, it spread fast—and it changed everything.

In this narrative horror RPG, you’ll explore what’s left: empty homes, ruined streets, the diner or   the school haunted by echoes of the past. The military came. Then they vanished. The world forgot. But you’re still here.

Something’s not right.

And the deeper you dig, the worse it gets.

Dead City is our entry for the RPG Maker 2025 Game Jam on Itch.io. Built with love, panic, and a heavy sense of irony, it’s a love letter to classic survival horror with a corporate twist.

- Galv_PixelMove (v.1.4) - Gives the illusion of pixel movement for the player.

- SDE_AdventureMenu - Alternate main menu, suited for a horror or adventured-type game.

- CGMZ_SplashScreen - Creates a splash screen before the title screen
